William Courson

Flying Director

Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, William is a classically trained stage actor with a passion for Shakespeare.

While acting onstage in Ohio, William won Daytony awards for his performances in Alan Ayckborns’ Taking Steps and Deborah Brevoorts’ The Women of Lockerbie. He premiered a co-written and co-directed short film, Sunshine, at the Dayton Film Festival, and in 2011, Katalyst began representing William in film and print until his move to Chicago in 2013.

In addition to being a talented performer, William is also a skilled technician with experience in set design, scenic carpentry, scenic painting, lighting, and costume construction. From 2010 to 2013, William worked with I.A.T.S.E. Local 66 on various crew positions.

William joined Vertigo™ in 2013. Being a Flying Director allows William to marry his love for performance and his strengths as a technician to safely create another dimension of theatre.
