As the most veteran employee in the company’s office, Kate began working for Vertigo™ in the spring of 2007 and has been providing high quality customer service for nearly a decade.
Originally raised in Romeoville, Illinois, before moving to Naperville, Kate attended Waubonsie Valley High School in nearby Aurora. There, during a theatre arts class, she unexpectedly discovered her passion for the theatre world and her supporting role in it. “I was looking for a class to get an easy A, and that’s when I got bit by the theatre bug,” she says.
While in high school, Kate wore many hats on various productions, from scenic painter to stage manager. Some of the shows she worked on included Little Shop of Horrors, Letters to Lucerne, Grease, Fame, Our Town, K2, Auntie Mame, and Crazy For You.
While studying at the Conservatory of Theatre Arts in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Webster University, Kate continued acquiring more stage management experience by working on more productions, such as 42nd Street, Blithe Spirit, Rogers And Hart: A Celebration, Blood Wedding, A Night of Opera, Heartbreak House, and The Importance of Being Earnest.
During her undergraduate years, Kate attended a Webster University satellite campus in Geneva, Switzerland, for one term. On the weekends, she traveled to Italy, England, Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
After college, Kate moved from Naperville to work at Vertigo in their customer relations department and helped build the company's logistics department before the company eventually hired a full-time inventory position. A few years prior to joining the special rigging company, Kate worked as a freelance stage manager at the American Theater Company, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble in conjunction with Lookingglass Theatre Company and many others in the Chicagoland area.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys playing board games with her husband and watching movies with her friends. She’s always on the lookout for the next great adventure.
