Flying Director in Training

Justin’s started his theatre career in Crete, IL working as a tech in a production of Alice In Wonderland before working as a stage manager and master carpenter for Hairspray and Cats at his high school.

Justin remained involved in his high school’s theatre department working as a master carpenter and stage manager for different productions, such as Grease, Little Mermaid Junior, A Christmas Carol, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, and Rogers and Hamerstein’s Cinderella. Justin got accepted to Northern Illinois University’s School of Theatre and Dance as a BFA Design and Technology major, and while studying, Justin worked as an assistant stage manager for The Underpants, a stage manager for Awake and Sing! and Antigone. During his senior year of college, Justin spent his time booking rehearsal spaces for the School of Theatre and Dance around the university while its facility was being rebuilt. During the summers, Justin worked as fly operator and flying supervisor for Cedar Point’s Luminosity.

During the fall of 2015, Justin worked as a stage manager for an NIU production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe? and graduated the following year before working in his favorite production, Blithe Spirit.

After college, Justin returned to Cedar Point’s Luminosity and later joined Carnival’s Cruise Lines as an entertainment automation technician, traveling from Miami to Mexico, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Caicos, and Belize. Justin joined Vertigo as a Flying Director in 2017.

In his spare time, Justin enjoys listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, and cooking.
