By the time he was 21 years old, Tanner had already established a notable career in Las Vegas as a technical handyman.
When he was 18, Tanner began working in the special events department at the Clark County Parks and Recreation before working as a carpenter at Rhino Staging. While at Rhino Staging, he worked as load-in crew for Vegas shows, which included artists such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Aerosmith, and Justin Timberlake.
While gaining experience in festivals and concerts, Tanner worked in side operations at the 2014 Vans Warped Tour. The following year, Tanner began his flying effects career, rigging for 3G Productions and spending summer stocks at the Utah Shakespeare Festival while completing classes in arena rigging and rope access at Desert Specialty Rigging Supply.
Over a three-year period, Tanner worked as an Assistant Flyman, Stage Crew, Deck Carpenter, and a Stage Crew Supervisor at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Some of his most notable productions include Amadeus, Dracula, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Mary Poppins, Coconuts, and a production of Henry IV, Part II with Tony Amendola.
His impressive work experience caught the attention of Flying By Foy, where he was hired as a Flying Director. At Foy, Tanner’s career took him around Idaho, Colorado, California and the surrounding areas where he helped create effects for flying productions. Some of his most notable projects include Beauty and The Beast, Wizard of Oz, and four different productions of Peter Pan Ballet. In 2017, Tanner joined Vertigo™.
In his free time, Tanner enjoys landscape photography, hiking, exploring, casting rings, leatherworking, and making chainmail.
