Lewie Long

Flying Director

If you spend enough time walking around the Vertigo™ shop, you’ll often hear Lewie singing at the top of his lungs to a Broadway musical while he’s packing gear for clients. It’s his natural environment.

Raised in Sandusky, Ohio, Lewie began his career in theatre at Perkins High School. When the school put on shows, Lewie operated the light board and also found the time to act in shows, such as You Can’t Take It With You.

While studying theatre at Bowling Green State University Firelands, Lewie worked in the carpentry shop for the Caryl Crane Youth Theatre and their production of Charlotte’s Web. He was also part of the cast for the university’s production of Dark of The Moon in addition to working behind the stage as a carpenter.

Lewie transferred to Sinclair Community College focusing on performance and technical theatre. There, he worked as a stage manager and built sets for the school’s theatre department. While working there, he became friends with another prospective Vertigo employee, William Courson. One of his most notable acting credits was performing as Leslie in Taking Steps by Alan Ayckbourn.

In September, 2014, Lewie started working at Vertigo by helping the company reorganize their inventory, but since then his role has shifted to a Flying Director, allowing him to travel around North America from Stone Mountain Theme Park in Georgia to the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show in Alberta, Canada.

In his spare time, Lewie enjoys attending theatre shows, riding his motorcycle, and reading comic books. One of his future dreams is to help NASA explore Mars.
